Why Should We Give Ministry Web Banner

Something for Everyone!

Pryor First United Methodist Church is not a place for spectators. It is a place for team members. Whether you are a five-year old child, a ninety-five year old grandmother, a busy mom, or a businessman with big responsibilities, we want you to be a part of our vibrant church family. Here is how you can learn, serve, and grow at Pryor FUMC.
E3 Youth ministries is tailored to teens in grades 6 through 12. Our mission statement is:
“Seeking God’s will every minute, every hour, every day”.  Youth ministry enables students to be world changers by showing Christ’s love for them and giving them tools to grow spiritually in their relationship with God.

United Methodist Women is a group of women helping women, children and youth around the world.  Our purpose is:  The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church. Locally we have several groups that meet:

  • The Business Group meets on the first Monday of each month to conduct the business of the organization
  • The Day Circle meets on the third Thursday at 1 p.m. in the church library.
  • The Reading Circle meets on the third Thursday at 2 p.m. in the library.
  • The Service Above Self group cooks for and serves Rotary three Fridays a month. A different group does the cooking each week, rotating through the month. A group also cooks and serves funeral dinners

United Methodist Men of all ages meet on the first Saturday of each month at 8 am for breakfast. They organize an annual garage sale and use the proceeds to support many groups within the church and Pryor community.  The men also use their gifts and talents to make repairs and improvements on the church building and grounds.

well The WELL

An after school program that meets from 3:30-5:30 on Wednesdays September – April. This program is designed for children in kindergarten through 5th grade. Children are picked up at their elementary schools;  we begin with a snack and tutoring. Other activities include a time to exercise and Bible classes.  At 5:30 we serve a  meal for the children and their families.
Volunteers are needed for preparing snacks, leading activities, teaching classes, and cleaning up afterwards.

Methodist Movers

The Methodist Movers are important to the life of Pryor First United Methodist Church, and as a member of the Movers we are among a long line of people who have shared the faith and led others in the work of Jesus Christ. The Movers are a group of retired members of the church who get together once a month for fellowship and lunch.  We welcome everyone in the church who is retired to join the group.  We meet on the second Thursday of the month in Fellowship Hall for our lunch, which may be prepared by various members or catered.  Our programs range from speaker to entertainer and we are blessed to have so many talented singers in our church.
The week of July 12-16 is designated as 2021 Mission Week at Home.
We have a lot to do. Everyone can help. You are needed regardless of your skill level. There is something you can do or contribute. Even if you can spare only an hour or two on just one day, you will be appreciated.
